Foster Grandparent Program

Are you 55 or older? Do you love working with children and want to give back to your community? We’ve got a solution for that.

 

Our classroom grandparent volunteers serve within our three early childhood education centers in Lincoln. In partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors, our Foster Grandparent Program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over, to stay active by serving children in the community – volunteer stipend, meals, and mileage included!

In order to qualify, your household income for the next 12 months must be at or below:

  • $29,160 for a family of one
  • $39,440 for a family of two
  • $49,720 for a family of three
  • $60,000 for a family of four

Classroom grandparents are mentors, role models, and friends to our Head Start enrolled children. This unique and rewarding opportunity positively impacts the lives of children in our community!

Eligibility

  • Age 55 or older
  • Love for children
  • Able to serve 15 - 35 hours per week
  • Income is 200% of the federal poverty level
