Basic Needs Services
Emergency Services
The Emergency Services Program provides emergency assistance with past due rent, utility bills, and deposits. Households must complete an application over the phone or in person to be eligible.
Appointments can be made for in person applications by calling the main office phone number at: (402) 471-4515.
When applying over the phone, please be prepared to leave a phone message for the Emergency Services staff and someone will return your call as soon as possible. Through the Lincoln Electric System Voucher program, clients may receive assistance to help pay their electric bill.
Applicants will be notified by mail if approved for assistance. If you receive a letter that you were approved, please call the main number (402) 471-4515 to set up an appointment. At this appointment you will be required to bring:
- Proof of income
- Social Security cards for all members of the household.
- Picture ID
- The bill that you applied for assistance with, or in the case of past due rent, you will be required to bring a copy of your lease and any notices you have received pertaining to this past due rent.
